Often people you meet in life keep telling you to
trust in God and his plans for you. You might have a doubt about how to trust a
person whom you have not seen. Yes. Definitely it is difficult to trust a
person whom you have not seen. You might have so many doubts. If you believe in
God, but have doubts on him then this for you. The only way to trust God is to
trust yourself completely, for you are his creation. You came from his
particle. When you trust his work, then automatically you trust him. ‘When you
believe in a painting, it means you believe the painter’.
When you accept God’s creation in total, you accept
God. When you ignore a part of you, you are ignoring him. ‘Trust yourself, and
in that trust find Him’. Your definition about yourself, defines your God,
because you came from him. If you think you are not handsome, then it means
that you believe your God is not handsome, because we can give only what we
have. If you think you are limited, it means your God is also limited. But this
is not possible, because God is beyond all limitations and so you are.
Everybody says ‘Have faith in God and believe in
yourself’ but I would say ‘Believe in yourself. Believe that you are beyond
limits’ and this thought will bring you closer to God. You can be differently
abled, intellectually challenged, been born in a broken family and seen lot of
misfortunes, but that is not the end. It is just a part of your story God has
written for you. He has a much greater purpose for you. As you travel in your
life with greater belief in yourself, he will reveal your purpose. If you are alive,
when you are reading this, it means God has a purpose for you. You cannot exist
without a purpose. No child is born into this universe without a purpose. Each
one is blessed with a bag of abundance. It is up to us to find it.
You can ask me, what if I am an atheist. You can
deny God but you cannot deny science, because it’s happening right before you. The
same logic applies here. In the evolutionary process, no being is created
without any reason. If you see something ‘so called negative’ in you (eg: any
form of disability) then definitely there is something positive in you to
compensate for your disabilities. This is the law of nature. But here again,
the key word is ‘Trust’. You have to trust yourself. Whether you believe in
science or God, if you believe you exist for a reason, then you will find your
life purpose.
You can ask God, why you did not give me this and
that and God will ask you in return “What did you do, with what I have already
given for you?”. We all feel that with our disabilities, we are of no use to
others. I tell you. Consciously or unconsciously we are creating a difference
in someone’s life. Hard to believe, but it is the law of nature. We are all
interdependent. You might feel that you are worthless, but when you smile at
your security guard he feels happy at his heart. Unknowingly you proved you
worth has a being. The irony is we are taught right from our childhood, that to
make a difference in someone’s life we need to do something ‘big’ for them for
which results can be seen immediately. Eg: We are always taught that helping
others mean to help them financially. This is not so. However small your act
can be, if it brings smile on someone’s face then you have made a difference.
Try this small exercise:
1. When
you go to bed today, think about your day. Contemplate on the moment you got up
from your bed to begin your day till the end of the day. Count the number of
activities you did that put a smile on others. It can be anything right from a small act of
greeting to organ donation. Don’t underestimate the power of your act. The act
can be small for you, but for the acing heart, it is a big difference.
2. After
making a list of activities, read the list twice. How do you feel?
Imagine the above scenarios. Without much conscious
awareness we are making a difference in others life. What if you start
believing in your abundance and really work for a cause. To work for a cause,
you need to know your purpose. ‘Stop focusing on your limitation and focus on
what you have’. Even with no arms or no legs or having a poor family
background, you can still smile if you focus on your strengths. It is not the
limitation in your body that disturbs you but your crippling thoughts is what really
keeping you disabled.
Some people are really born with some form of
disability and some are born without any disability. This is not difference
between successful and unsuccessful people. It is all about your thoughts and
belief about yourself. Even if you are differently able person, if you have
constructive thoughts, you will find your life purpose, but on the other hand
even if you are born without any limitations if you have limited thoughts your
life can be really disabling.
Think of the smile you put on other’s face in this
particular day (See the previous exercise)
Now compare both the boxes. Is that you are really
disabled? Is that you are really worthless? With all your crippling self
defeating thoughts you are still able to make difference in other’s life. Why
don’t you really start working towards it? Think.
Many a time we wait for a miracle in our life,
forgetting the fact that we ourselves are a biggest miracle. We have already
arrived on this earth as a gift but with a different wrapper, different color
and shape. But be sure, we are all a gift and a miracle. You are loved and you
are beautiful in your way.
Remember,
‘ Diamonds can be wrapped in an old newspaper
Artificial flowers can be wrapped in a dazzling gift
covers’
If you focus only on the wrapper you will miss the
gift. Accept your gift. Accept yourself in total. You have a purpose. You are
on this earth to find out your purpose. Don’t give up. You are a Miracle.
